In times of crisis the competitiveness of a company relies on its ability to be even more innovative and creative. ArcelorMittal’s sheet pile department definitely embraces a new path in the way to communicate with its customers.
As a matter of fact, the second edition of 2012 of the steel sheet piles general catalogue was printed in October 2012, but we were already working on an interactive way to share the information. Internet is a tool that allows keeping the flow of information up-to-date, but fact is that some customers do not browse through our website on a regular basis. However, ArcelorMittal’s sheet pile portfolio evolves at a steady pace, and each year, more than two or three editions of the general catalogue are released. Even our best customers miss sometimes our newest improvements.
It was evident that the next step would be to use a new way to keep in touch: an app for iPad and Android tablets.
ArcelorMittal is the worldwide leader in the steel foundation solutions and one of the aims of this application is to showcase the package solutions that we are able to supply. Besides we used this opportunity to add many pictures from reference projects around the world.
Additionally, this new app enables us to inform our customers of any change instantly. Any new revision of the app will be available directly on the tablet without any action required form the owner. This initiative is bound to be a success. An internal poll confirmed that nowadays most of our customers possess at least one touch screen tablet.
The iPad application is available since end of December 2012, the Android version since mid January 2013.
